The name says it all, it is four times the pleasure. The Belgian Quadrupel is strongest Belgian beer brewed by the Trappist Monks. It has a bolder flavor than the Dubble or Triple and has a very high alcohol content. Drinking too many of these could be your coup de grâce, so be careful. This recipe produces a beer with about 10% alcohol! The reason you want to drink this beer is not because of the alcohol, but because of the incredibly complex flavors such a strong beer produces. You will experience a party in your mouth with this beer with tastes of Caramel, dark sugars, toffee and spicy Phenols. The color is deep ruby red. I want to pour one just writing this!
Because of the extreme alcohol content you are better off using multiple yeast packages (at least two) or doing a starter. You can use just one Imperial Yeast packet due to their much higher yeast count.
