This beer does not quite fit into a particular box, that is why it is called a Belgian Specialty.  This Beer is inspired not by Trappist Monks, like so many Belgian style beers, but by the common man.  It is spicy due to the use of a Cardamom Pod and Coriander seed.  This is a Belgian beer that even those that are not that crazy about Belgium beers tend to like.  It has enough alcohol to be a Belgian, but not so much that you can't drink a few at 6.5 ABV.  Naysayers might mock this beer as untraditional Belgium, but Belgians would reply "This is not Germany and there is no Reinheitsgebot here!" (although they might say that in Flemish, so we would have no idea what they said).  If you have not been to Belgium, make the trip, it will open amaze you, in the meantime, you can brew this beer and dream.

Style Overview:
Belgian Specialty Ales trace their roots to creative local brewers hailing from Belgium, and are categorized as such due to the fact that they don't quite fall into other existing belgian beer style categories. They commonly utilize varying spices and wild yeast and bacteria for fermentation.
