This is a Belgian inspired beer based on the open and fluid style of Belgium brewing history.  It was not inspired by monks, but by the common brewers and the common man.  That is not to say it is not sophisticated - it is.  This beer contains Cardamon Pods, Coriander seed and Aromatic Kiln with a Pilsen Light Malt liquid extract as the base.  Its flavor is produced from the Belgian yeast accented by the spices.  Some people in Belgium my speak German (though more speak Flemish), but there is no Reinheitsgebot law here.  The beauty of Belgium is that beer is old and traditional, but also always evolving and one can use what every ingredients one wishes.  It is the melting pot of beer.  If you have never been to Belgium, you should put it on your bucket list, for now...enjoy this beer. Proost!

Belgian Specialty Ale - Extract Recipe Kit Instructions

Style Overview:
The origins of Belgian Specialty Ales can be traced back to the imaginative local brewing community of Belgium. These are Belgian-style beers that don't really fit into a defined existing category of beer styles, and oftentimes make use of a variety of spices and/or wild yeast and bacteria for fermentation.
