This dark wheat beer is a very traditional beer from southern Germany that predates the Hefeweizen. As the name implies, the beer is dark, but it is not as dark as many British dark beers. The alcohol is around 5.5% and it is unfiltered. It has some of the same taste caractoristis as it's better known cousin the Hefeweizen. It's unique taste comes from both the wheat and the yeast.
