Patersbier/Belgian Enkel - Mini-Mash Extract Recipe Kit

We all picture monks in Belgium drinking a Belgium Dubbel with a considerable amount of Alcohol, but this is often not the case.  Monks also brew a special beer for themselves called Patersbier or "Father's Beer" in Dutch.  This beer is lower in alcohol and allows them to carry out their daily schedules without stumbling around.  The beer comes out of the process of Enkel ("single" in Dutch) in which they did an additional sparge to extract remaining sugars and then brewed this mash into the Patersbier or Enkel Bier.

  • Est. Original Gravity: 1.045 SG
  • Est. Final Gravity: 1.006-1.010 SG
  • Est. Alcohol by Volume: 4.6-5.1%
  • Bitterness: 18.9 IBUs
  • Estimated Color: 7.4 SRM
