    root beer

Posted by dave on 27th Dec 2016

It arrived with a root beer sticker on it, but I didn't need the sticker to tell that it used to contain MUG root beer, as you could smell it as soon as I pulled the pressure relief. Guess I'll have to give it a good soak/scrub myself.

Hate to see what "regular" looks like

Posted by JimEb on 15th Jun 2016

First time ordering used kegs so I took I chance on the premium grade. Kegs are rougher than I expected. One has the bottom all dented up...not sure how that would've happened with the rubber base on it. That one also had a dilapidated sticker on it eluding to its previous contents: root beer. But it was clean inside, no strong odors. The posts were obviously all installed by a gorilla using a 2ft breaker bar. At least thats a plausible explanation considering the amount of force needed to remove them. Some rust on the covers, but nothing affecting function. No doubt they are used, stickers, dents, scratches, rust, etc. If this is premium grade I'd hate to see how the regular ones look. I'm probably jaded because up until this I only used new kegs.

    Excellent ball lock corney keg

Keg was delivered promptly and in immaculate condition. No complains whatsoever. Holds pressure. Received an extra set of gaskets. A bit pricey, but I'd definitely purchase again.

    great price

Awesome deal on great looking kegs, I did have a problem with 1 of the 2 not sealing unless I cranked c02 up to 30psi, but eventually through a lot of trial and error I was able to make it work.

That's my only reason for not giving it 5 stars, customer service was awesome when dealing with my issue, and I plan to purchase more kegs in the future.

    Hmmm...

Posted by Scott on 23rd Nov 2014

I purchased 2 premium used kegs. I expected a bit better. Outside of kegs is in good shape. No major issues. Insides all work. Keg was not really clean and smelled like 7up soda. After some good cleaning and soaking, I still can smell soda.

The kegs hold pressure and work very well.

    Fast shipping.

*****Note from Kegconnection. The mention in this post about the 7up smell is fairly common on used kegs. When they are cleaned there is a small amount of cleaning solution left in keg (maybe a tablespoon) because it is virtually impossible to remove all the liquid and still pressure test and ship. When this sits in keg it can produce a little bit of a sweet smell that could be confused with 7up. Kegs should always be rinsed with clean water immediately before filling with beer. I hope this helps.

    Great kegs for beginners, but...

Posted by Chris on 22nd Oct 2014

I purchased 3 of these kegs when building my keezer last March (7 months ago as of this writing) and they've worked like a charm. However, one of them recently started leaking on the OUT disconnect. I've tried reseating the poppet but no luck. This is only after using the keg for 2 batches. When I disconnect the line you can easily see beer sputtering and leaking out of the post. The quality is good overall but you might consider purchasing an extra post and/or poppet, which is what I'm about to do.

    Perfect. Just perfect.

First time kegging our homebrew (goodbye bottling!!) and I could not have asked for a better keg. Came pressurized and super clean. After a quick sanitizing we were ready to keg. Held pressure and dispensed our magical elixir. Very fast shipping.
I would highly recommend is product as well as the quick disconnect ball lock MFLs I ordered as well.
