A German Black Lager, Schwartbier is a great beer for anytime of the year. Because of it's dark color some might thing it is more of a winter beer, but it is actually very a very clean, refreshing tasting lager that is even enjoyable even on a warm day. It is excellent in the fall and a "dual weather beer". It is a malty beer, but it has just enough hops to balance out the flavor. A similar style would be a dark Czech lager. This beer is underappreciated as a style, but once you brew it, you will love it.
