The Yuengling brewery was started in 1829 and is the oldest brewery in America. This flagship brand and celebrated it's 190th anniversary in 2019. This Yuengling Traditional Lager was reintroduced in 1987 when the company was really struggling. This lager was brewed at a high quality beer, but it needed new packaging and new beers. The Traditional Amber Lager is one of the things that really turned the brewery around. It is a cool American success story with the idea to go against the standard practice in the 80s of lightening beers and it worked for them. This beer is rich in flavor and well balanced. It is easy drinking, vey moderate in alcohol and considered a classic. The only issue is that it is not available in many areas of the country. Now you can brew our clone at home!
This beer is a lager an requires some additional steps. Please read the " Brewer's Notes" in the "Recipe Kit Instructions" in the link below for tips for brewing this great American beer.
