This is a re-conditioned 5 gallon ball lock, soda keg.  They are sometimes called "corny kegs" because of the manufacturer, Cornelius, but they can be made by several manufactures including Firestone, AEB, and others.  These kegs have been cleaned and pressure tested using the following process:

  • Rinsed out with water on the inside and sprayed on the outside.
  • Soaked in a hot "Brew Clean" solution for about an hour with poppet valves depressed to fill dip tubes with cleaning solution. Then re-rinsed.
  • The keg is then pressurized and soap tested for leaks, then left for several days and re-tested for pressure before shipping.
  • If you keg has a "sweet" smell when you open it this is normal.  This smell comes from the residual "Brew Clean" cleaner, NOT from soda. Just rinse the keg and sanitize again before kegging.

These kegs ship under our flat rate shipping (some of our competitors exclude kegs from free or reduced flat rate shipping programs).

These kegs come with their original O-rings AND a new set of O-rings at no additional charge (some competitors charge up to $3.99 for this new set of O-rings)  This O-ring set includes Lid O-ring, two post O-rings and two dip-tube O-rings.

Please remember that these are used kegs.  They will have dings, dents, stickers on the outside and could have some permanent staining that will not effect your beer.  If you want a perfect keg we sell new kegs as well.

Again - these are used kegs and are returnable but you will pay the shipping to return them.

    Corny - Firestone Keg

Arrived as expected. Awesome Corny Keg! Obviously used, but I've only found normal wear "scratches" on the keg. Don't recall seeing any dings or dents. Thanks, Keg Connection, for the great Corny Keg!

    Pretty Rough

I don't know if it's the luck of the draw but the one I received is pretty banged up! On the bottom there are some large dents. Where the lid attaches and seals the keg the rim has got some gouge spots where it looks like someone took a screw driver and tried to get a stuck lid off causing some pretty bad damage. It just barely seals (I think). Also was not cleaned well still smells heavily of soda. I wanted to use for homebrew but it might work as a cleaning can. I just can't recommend.

Took a little bit of time to ship but that was over a holiday. Once in the mail i arrived quickly. Keg is in good shape and I like the option to add spare o-rings

    As Described

Keg was in normal exterior shape for a used corny keg and was clean inside. It did have a soda smell at first, but it was just because of the old o-rings. Once I replaced the o-rings with the new ones that were included in the box and rinsed the keg it was perfect.

The poppets and pressure relief value were all in good shape. I gave them all a soak in vinegar to make sure there was no lingering soda smell on them.

    Used Corny Kegs

All kegs travelled at least 5 days and were still holding pressure. Quick disconnect outer o-rings look old and starting to crack. This is to be expected and since Keg connections ships these with new o-rings - no problem! Small dents and many scuff marks, and 1 of 3 had a big label on it all cosmetic not functional problem and exactly per website description. Good value.

I bought 2 of these kegs and they showed up in awesome condition, especially for used kegs. Minimal damage and were pressurized when I got them. Through the new seals on and they are working great!

    Good as always

I have been ordering from Kegconnection for a few years now and they never disappoint. The keg was perfectly clean and had a small amount of pressure in it when it showed up at my door 4 DAYS after ordering it. None of the kegs I have ordered have leaked. None of the handles have been torn off or damaged. Great quality every time.

    Much better than I expected

I recently ran out of available ball lock kegs and even though I looked at the "normal: online sites for used ones locally, I simply couldn't find any. I have been a listener of Homebrew Happy Hour for a long time and figured I'd place my first order. I couldn't be happier. Great quality kegs, some spare o-rings and at a price, shipped, that beats what I would have paid used locally.
